The IT.com vertical search solution is deployed as a hosted solution or appliance product, integrated into your website, that provides search portal services in such a way as to reflect the perspective and intentions of your searchers.
IT.com provides contextually driven search in a vertical context. As such, each solution we deploy is highly customized. Prior to the deployment of the product, we conduct a thorough analysis of the type of searches expected on the system, the data to be searched, and, most importantly, the perspective of the user searching the system. We use this information to calibrate the retrieval and ranking of our results to accurately reflect the concerns of the searcher.
By combining techniques such as citation ranking and imputed topic analysis, we are able to build in sensitivity to the searcher's perspective, and improve search results significantly for the target audience.
